Here is a close up showing the pattern in the repair.
According to H Mollat in an other post the pattern occurs as a result of too rapid cooling.

This weight is a Gears group 6 weight and probably originates in Lan Na because the tail feathers both droop and curve upwards, unlike the Pyu Group 6 wts with a foliate tail.
The legs are hidden on the smaller weights reinforcing the brooding manner of the weight's stance. As well, feet being visible but legs hidden both point to this group being produced during the 14th c as does the 12.6 tic /61 gm weight of the piece.
So not a transition piece as I had thought originally.
