The Rangoon Times Christmas Numbers 1912/1913 published the advertisement of the wellknown photographers P. Klier and Raphael Tucks & Sons (please see also the thread "A journey into the past (Burma in 1910), Part II". An interesting historical reference for collectors of Burmese vintage postcards.

Furthermore Burmese rubies, Shan silverware, ivory and other "souvenir goods" attracted the European in Burma already in the early 20th century. Of course Whisky, Brandy and Port Wine were most wanted too.

And also in 1912 the Western people were faced with special diseases in the tropics - than as today. Here is the medicine:
