Nice patina, probably with somewhat like dark coating at some parts of the body. Star mark was'n't made very carefully. Usually Hintha weights of the 2nd half of the 19th c bear very precise 6-rayed-star-marks. But anyway, special, interesting piece. Perhaps I would confirm the authenticity if I would know the weight mass.

Yes, 5 tical, nice patina, special wing decoration, short beak - but even a little bit strange (and I'm not able to show another example), I would say it's an original one.

Hi,
your discussion is perfect. Sorry, I noticed it only now. In my collection I have a 10 Tical weight (159,7 g) nearly identical in form, verification mark and patina. Only the line on the wings is short, not a spiral. I think this form is a variation of Hintha 4 produced somewhere (locally ?) in small numbers. Maybe we have to define some variations in future and extend the class H4. A challenge with regard to the small variations of the main classes.
