I wanted to share with you the pictures of a 5 viss bird weight (8 140 g) found last year in the US. It was brought back by an American diplomat who lived in Rangoon in the 1950s/1960s.

Wow, it is beautiful. It is good to start collecting a countries cool stuff before the crowd arrives. I'm glad I got what I did early. I'm sure you feel the same way. Did you buy weights from the beefy guy in JJ who has a glass case and has a second shop across the walk-way? I got lots of stuff from him but in march he had nothing I liked. He said some collectors from Germany would buy everything he had in the case. Was that you? I would only get 30 or 40 at a time.
Do you have any recommendations on cleaning weights. I have used toothpicks to get the big pieces of dirt off and then a dry soft toothbrush. I damaged one weight with the toothpick so got a little more gentle. I have seen some weights that looked like they had been cleaned with a jewelry buffer and it was sad.
I also have collected Zuni fetishes. They are small carved stone animals. There are many traditional designs and and well known carvers. These are made for collectors but do have some history. The real Zuni fetishes are considered spirit helpers and they are never sold. I think they would be interesting for your site. I will take a set of pictures and post them in the site and you can have a USA thread or delete them. Up to you. I can go into a store and look at the stock and reccognise fetishes by artists I collected many years ago. Families also continue styles.
